Mary Megdaline Ariyanayagam. Passed away peacefully at home on 4th May 2023, aged 83. Loving Daughter of the late Anthonypillai Philips (Headmaster of St Theresa’s School Kilinochchi) and Francesca Muthamma.

Loving Daughter-in-Law of the late Bastiampillai and Ganamuthu. Beloved wife of Bastiampillai Joachimpillai Ariyanayagam.

Loving mother of Bastian Jude, Philips Joseph and Mary Jothini, Mother-in-Law of Assumpta, Nirosha and Pathmarooban.

Loving and caring grandmother of Meleni, Jeslyn, Anastasia, Andrew, Anushiyaa and baby Pathmarooban.

Beloved sister of the late David (Ponrasa), George, Fr Jesuthasan, Grace (Thangamany), Soosaithasan (Sellam), Christopher (Palar), Elsie (Rukku), Calista (Kanmany) and Benjamin (Thangaras). Survived by John (Navam) and Joseph (Thevathas).

Loving Sister-in-Law of the late Rosemary, Celine, late Emelda (Rani) , Elizabeth (Baby), Thomas (Anthony), Miriam, Vijayakumar, Vathy and Reeni.

Beloved aunty of Jude (Rasa), Claudia (Ramani), Lourdes (Roja), John (Rajan) , Sandra, Joe, Yogala, Pamela, Shamila, Damian, Niranjala, Nimalraj, Edwin, Nihanth, Sujeevan, Mohann, Thiona, Natasha and Alvin.

Viewing from 4.00 pm Monday, 8th May 2023 onward and 9th May 2023 from 10.00 am followed by service at A.F. Raymond, 115 D.S. Senanayke Mawatha, Colombo 8 at 3.00pm. Cremation at Borrella Cemetery at 4.00 pm 9th May 2023.
