I want to share a few beautiful memories of Rasa Mami. I am currently in Sri Lanka and deeply saddened that I could not see her over the past 6 months. A wonderful human who was great fun to be around and was a massive difference in my life. Rasa Mami and Rasa Mama baked a date cake for me during their last visit to the UK. Mirla, my wife, frequently describes how they both kept her entertained whilst I was at work. She was an expert with the date cake, paratha and pastries. She did an awesome Chinese soup too - Wonton was her favourite. Whenever she bought something for Deepan she would also buy it for me. I remember both Rasa Mama and Rasa Mami went to Singapore and on their return they bought us both our first watch. Mine had a green dial. Whenever I used to go to Pundaluoya where Rasa Mama worked, I would inevitably fall sick with wheezing and will be bed ridden for a few days. Rasa Mami will fall asleep on a rocking chair or something similar next to my bed. However, she would regularly wake up every hour to pour eau de cologne over my forehead. Rasa Mama will then carry me to the doctor in the morning. A lot of memories - these are some of the little touches of love which are etched in my memory forever. Even during the trips I made to Scarborough as recently as Dec. 2014, Dec. 2015, Apr. 2016, August 2017 were so beautiful. Rasa Mami would grind and cut so many nuts and will say, இதைச் சாப்பிடும் உடம்புக்கு நல்லது - these are the little things which made me go and see this happy couple again and again. The almighty will have a special place for her to rest in eternal peace.
