Lankadurai Rasiah, age 84, of Scarborough, Canada, peacefully entered God’s presence on Monday, December 16, 2024.
Lankadurai Rasiah was born on July 23, 1940, in Point Pedro, Sri Lanka, to the late Mr. and Mrs. D.V. Rasiah. He completed his high school education at Hartley College, Point Pedro, and later earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Peradeniya. On August 23, 1971, he married Joyce ShanthamalarLankadurai in Jaffna.
Lankadurai began his career as a Teacher in 1970 at Central College, Jaffna. He later lectured at Kokuvil Technical College, Jaffna and served as a Principal at Samanthurai Technical College, Batticaloa. He also dedicated time tutoring at Vikna Institute and Northern Institute. Finally, he was the Tamil Sectional Head at Maradana Technical College in Colombo before retiring in 2000.
Alongside his professional achievements, Lankadurai dedicated himself to raising his family, helping others, and cherishing time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife Joyce and their three children: Shamitta, Charmaine, and Brian. He was a loving father-in-law to Ronald, Andrew, and Lisa.
Lankadurai was blessed with five grandchildren: Sharon, Shanna, Stesha, Sabina, and Sheadon.
He was the fourth child of nine siblings and a beloved brother to: ● Rajadurai, Pushpamani, Ranjithamani, Thevasagayam, Paramasagayam, Pooranasagayam, Jeevasagayam, and Yogasagayam.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Grace New Covenant Pentecostal Church, 1800 Ellesmere Rd, Scarborough, ON M1H 2V5.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Grace New Covenant Pentecostal Church. Following the service, LankaduraiRasiah will be laid to rest at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, 7770 Steeles Avenue East, Markham, Canada.
A fellowship meal will be held after the burial service on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Grace New Covenant Pentecostal Church, 1800 Ellesmere Rd, Scarborough, ON M1H 2V5. Friends and family may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
