I am deeply saddened at the passing away of my beloved Periappa. He was a towering figure in the British Tamil community as well as my family. He was a man of utmost integrity, honour and wisdom. He was a figure of huge inspiration to all those he met and generously helped. He always made great efforts in attending all family engagements with enthusiasm. He leaves a void that is impossible to fill. I will always treasure my memories of him. I know that he had been in poor health for some time.
