We are very sad about Kamala Akka, Mrs Kandiah, passing away after a long and fruitful life. We wish to express our condolences to her children and their families. We have known her all our lives, first in Uyarapulam, Anaicoddai, her parental home, and then in London. Our late father Mr Sivasambo had known Mrs Kandiah’s family since before her birth and, having known her as a baby, he had always been fond of her and interested in her welfare. Over the years we all have been in close touch with the family. In the 1970’s Gowri and Gunam lived in Croydon and had a lot to do with Mr and Mrs Kandiah and their children. We often visited the Kandiahs and they were very welcoming and hospitable and Kamala Akka would delightfully recall past events, particularly involving our father. It is sad that we shall not enjoy such joyful moments in future. May she rest in peace. Sridas, Sriharan, Gowri (& Gunam) and Sriskanthan
