Dear Kamala Aunty, Though we are happy that you have gone to our father’s house to rejoice with him, leaving all the sorrow and burdens of this world, we still grieve in our hearts in the earthly way. Losing an aunt like you is the same as losing a mother. I was sent to Jaffna Central College for my studies at the age of the 10. I remember, how homesick I was during that time and how you comforted me and took care of me. I used to eagerly wait and look forward to the weekend to come to Fletcher’s Lane Chundukuli where you gave me the affection of a mother which I needed most at that age. you warmly welcomed me, fed me with your delicious food, cared for me, comforted me with the same love of my own mother. I was another child to you. My cousins were so attached to me and we grew up like siblings. Even after my school days , time to time I stayed at your house.Today I cherish all those wonderful memories. Death can be very unfair but we can't run away from it. Losing someone is a very painful experience specially some one like you. The impact you made in our life will forever be treasured and appreciated. Today as I mourn your death with my cousins and nieces, I am reminded that Kamala aunty’s life is an exemplary example to all of us of how a mother should be. Her sacrifice for the children was not in vain..Her faith in our Lord Jesus reflects in the lives of her children. May she rest in peace and rejoice with the father..!
