
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr Jeyakumar Coomarasamy, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a respected community member who passed on May 7th 2025 at the age of 74 surrounded by his family.
Jeyan was the son of the late Coomarasamy and late Jeyaluxmi. He is the beloved husband of Premakumary and proud father of Kabilan, Methelan, and Krishanthi. He was a treasured father-in-law to Lavarniya and a loving grandfather to Mythili, who brought him immense joy and pride. He was also a devoted and loving Thatha to his dog and best friend, Kali.
Born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Jeyan received his early education at Manipay Hindu College. In 1972 Jeyan arrived in London; he moved to Scotland in 1977 to pursue further education. He settled in Newbury Park, London in 1983 which became his cherished home for more than four decades. He began his career as a foreman at Jay Burns with his professional journey later leading him to become the manager at Mobil, Newbury Park, where he was known for his hard work and integrity.
Jeyan will be remembered for his quiet strength, unique sense of humour, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed.
