Mr. Gnanapragasam Marianayagampillai was born in  Delft East, Sri Lanka lived in  New Jersey USA and passed away on Saturday 14th March 2020.

He is the son of late Joseph Gnanapragasam (Head teacher Ilavalai St.Henrys Primary, Jaffna OLR Roman Catholic & Delft Roman catholic schools) and late Victoriapillai, Delft East.

He is survived by his lovely wife Mary Josephine (Sinnamalar teacher), Vice Principal St. Don Bosco (Jaffna), with whom he celebrated 69 years of joyful married life.

He is the son-in-law of late Ambalavanar Thiruchelvam, Headmaster (DelftWest) and Annamma of Periyathottam, Delft East.

He is the father of Thavanayagam, Jeyanayagam (Jeyan), Mathivathani(Mathy), Easaneehai (Easan/Paapa) and Suhirthanayagam (Suhir).

Father-in-law of Gowri, Kirubarani, Anthony, Devi, Shaila, and Ron.

He is survived by his sister Rev. Sis. Pushpam (Retired Mother superiorJaffna Provincialate) and is the brother of the following late siblings:

Mary Anthoniapillai(UK), Mariaroganampillai(Thuraichamy), Maamani(UK),Baptist(Rasa) (Toronto), Antonypillai(Sri Lanka), Theresamalar (Malar)(UK),Rajaratnam (Sri Lanka), Sebastiampillai (Sri Lanka), Jeevaratnam (UK), and Thiagarajah (UK).

Brother-in-law of Devathas(TAX) USA, Daisy(USA), late Annamalar (Toronto),late Rev Sis Dominic (Sri Lanka), late Rev Sis Philomina (New Zealand) and late Thiru(Pius).

Grand father of Carlothayan (Carlo), Haren, late Neelan, Kohila, Mydili,Ravivarman (Varun), Janeni, Shaaranya, Thevika , Rathika and Ampahl.

Great-grand father of Neela and Julius.

’’Funeral is on Sunday March 22 in a private function due to Nationwide Social Isolation requirements by law.’’
