I had many periyappas and siththappas. Of the Periyappas, Eragupillai periyappa was the closest. When our family also moved to Kirillapone in 1948, it was Eragupillai periyappa who put me in the Kirillapone Tamil School till I learnt my English. Thereafter the lives of both famlies became closeknit. Kanges Annan, you were a role model for all of us. You became a doctor while I was studying at Royal. Later, after I became an Engineer, we met in Batticaloa. Threafter we seem to have lost touch. May you rest in peace. Vignes.
