Even today at this moment, I cannot believe that my Devy Akka is no more. Since I was a little girl in the 1980s in Sri Lanka, my family has known her family and we developed a special bond and something more than "friends". I can remember the moments when during my teenagehood, I would run to Akka's house every weekend and she would teach me how to cook, knit, sew, bake, design, etc. Since I came to Canada, Devy Akka has never forgotten to call me at least thrice a week to have long chats. Today I can say that I am successful it's only because of Devy Akka. She has been my pillar of support and strength, she has stood for me in numerous places and she has treated me like her own sister. Even right now, I can hear her voice saying Suba but when would I say Devy Akka again? I can still remember the unforgettable moments when I came to Sri Lanka in 2007, 2010, and 2013, my Devy Akka and Tharmalingam Anna would be the first ones to receive me and invite me to stay over. My family's true sorrows and condolences are always given to her three children and the entire family.
Our heartfelt condolences Ahilan- jeyanthy family Vavuniya
