Dear Subashini, Subothini, Subentheran (Thamby) and Marina (Thanga) My sincere condolences to you on the passing of Uncle Mariathasan. A great light has gone out in our community. It's never easy to lose a parent and Uncle one of a kind. Uncle was a pioneer in Mazabuka, Zambia! He was a great companion, student and longtime (spanning more than four decades!) ally of my parents, Mr and Mrs BE Marianayagam, in Zambia. As a result of their close association, Uncle looms large in my childhood memories. I remember Uncle as a hardworking teacher and family man, with multiple talents in wood working, artistry, horticulture, poultry keeping, car maintenance and generally everything! The great hospitality of both Uncle and late Aunty, whenever all six of us visited you all in Mazabuka, was legendry. Auntie's drumstick curry is ingrained in my mind and taste buds forever! I know that both our sets of parents are on a cloud somewhere in paradise, catching up on news! My God strengthen all of you and your families during this difficult time. May the angels welcome Uncle and lead him to the Lord, and may God grant him eteral rest with Him in paradise.
