It is with the heaviest heart that I learned of Dr Arasa’s passing. I was so truly sorry and shocked. I had no idea he had been poorly or indeed that he had been in hospital.
As all who knew Dr Arasa he was one of the best of people I have known in my life. I considered him not only a colleague but a dear, dear friend. He was a true socialist in what is meaningful. He treated everyone the same from whatever walk of life they came from and would help all that came across his path.
He had the ability to get anyone to do what was necessary or to fill gaps in Rotas etc no matter what plans they had to adjust. We never could say “No” to Dr Arasa.! I will have a lasting memory of him walking up the corridor, hands behind his back to do the next job on his never ending list of things that needed to be attended to.
He was the kindest of human beings and the most respected person I know. My husband (Roger) would often discuss politics and cricket with him and I would get a brief look in if I was lucky.
He helped us as a family immeasurably and I am eternally grateful for that.
I consider myself to have been so lucky to have known Dr Arasa and will miss him so much. He had the ability to make you think things through and to do what was right. He was my Jiminy Cricket and that me made me a better person
This must be nothing compared to the loss felt by his family, particularly Mrs Arasa.
His loss will be far reaching as well as by our family.
He was so proud of his own family and would speak of them often.
He will be sorely missed by so many.
