Dear Jeyasri and Children, I was shocked to hear of his passing on. We were in telephone communication as recently two weeks ago, chatting about the good old days teaching at Jaffna University, Tamil Literature and History, Geopolitics and whatnot. He was such a humble and friendly personality, with a smile that was both infectious and disarming. The academic world has lost a person of much repute. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. Time is a great healer, and may you bravely go through the processes of grieving and coping.
