Was very saddened to learn of Gerry's passing.. Gerry was one of the first Westerners I met while in Ubon Ratchatani, Thailand back in 2009, we lived in the same apartment building.. He was quite the character for sure . We would celebrate our Birthdays every year with a Martini.. Mine 12/31/1956, his 01/01/1960, was an annual ritual.. He was a very good teacher, his students admired and loved him.. You could never forget his boisterous laugh, made others laugh.. Wasn't uncommon for Gerry to go off the grid for months at a time, then reappear again and connect with me.. I'll always remember the fun times we had in Ubon, Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiangmai and Chiang Rai, some really fun times.. Gerry's motto was Wine, Women and Song.. He lived life to the fullest everyday.. Until we meet again my good friend Gerry, rest in peace.. I'll raise a glass and a toast to your spirit.. Heartfelt condolences to the family... Respect, Stephen R. Whittington
